The Stockton art scene is as diverse as it is active. Local artists from a variety of backgrounds create and display masterful pieces in a range of mediums.
The Elsie May Goodwin Gallery displays art from the Stockton Art League. Visitors to the gallery will find a wide variety of art, including sculptures, fabric art, paintings, jewelry, and ceramics.

The Mary Short Gallery at the Alan Short Center displays works by adults with developmental disabilities. The gallery features paintings and drawings, crafts, cards, beadwork, ceramics, and fabric art.

Art Expressions of San Joaquin now has a permanent location at 2318 Pacific Avenue. Their art can also be viewed in the County Administration Building at 44 North San Joaquin Street, at at the Stockton Metropolitan Airport, 5000 S. Airport Way, and other Stockton locations. Art Expressions goal is to promote and showcase the works of dedicated and talented artists with the rest of the San Joaquin Valley.

The Reynolds Gallery displays a diverse array of art from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds. In recent months the gallery has shown works by Mexican-born painter and print maker Enrique Chagoya, a traveling exhibit from the Smithsonian on the struggle of the Bracero, student work from around the campus, works by poster artist David Goines, works by region high school students, and by Bay Area artists. The Reynolds Gallery is found in the Jeanenette Powell Art Center at the University of the Pacific.

San Joaquin Delta College's L. H. Horton Jr. Gallery exhibits fine art by local, regional, and national artists. Each year the gallery holds an annual student show, a faculty or alumni show, and small group thematic shows along with a variety of other exhibits. The L. H. Horton Jr. Gallery is located in the Shima Center.
Hours: Tuesday 11 AM to 4 PM, Wednesday and Thursday 11 AM to 6:30 PM, Friday 11 AM to 1 PM; also some Saturdays 11 AM to 3 PM
